Since the cementing of their lineup in 2019, Arms To Oblivion has shown that groove metal is still strong. Hailing from Ipswich, Suffolk, the four-piece juggernaut has influences ranging from Metallica, Pantera, Killswitch Engage, Down, Tool and Crowbar. Featuring the growls, cleans and hearts of Doug Warren on vocals, the ultimate power and big riffs of Peter Finch (guitar), all topped off with a rhythm section of pure class comprising of Brent Brown (bass) and Matt Austen (drums), ATO have carved through the East Anglian metal scene, with their brand of heavy groove riffs and
raw energy.
Since the release of their first EP 'Prisons' in 2022, Arms have had coverage of their music both in the UK and abroad, featuring in and on French, American, South African and Australian magazines and radio. In May 2023, the second EP 'Defcylion' was released and has allowed the band to go from strength to strength, beginning to branch out further into London and beyond. It is of note that these guys win hearts, too; for the 2nd year in a row, the band have been brought back to play (as a crowd favourite) at Ipswich’s Music in the Park, the UK’s biggest free one-day live music event. The continued rise of Arms To Oblivion has been underlined by winning the Essex Final of the Metal 2 The Masses competition, securing a place on the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock Open Air Festival in August 2023.
